Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani presided over the opening of the conference, held under the theme: "Water and Technology... A Partnership for Development."

The representative of the President of the Republic, his advisor Muhammad Amin Faris, delivered a speech on behalf of the President, stating:
"The convening of the Fifth Baghdad Water Conference is of great importance to address a crucial issue, as the phenomenon of climate change is of global significance, and Iraq is among the countries most affected by it."

The Water Diplomacy Center (WDC) under Blue Peace Middle East Initiative and supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation is proud to be represented at the conference by its director, Dr. Mutawakil Obeidat, along with Dr. Mohammed Azzam, Dr. Wasim Barham, Dr. Ammar Albalasmeh, Eng. Eman Hamadah, and Ms. Haneen Abualhayjaa.

In addition, the WDC and Blue Peace Middle East hosted a joint booth at the conference, actively engaging in outreach to promote the center’s mission and the Blue Peace initiative.
