Opening of applications Master of Science program in Water Diplomacy Scholarship for the Summer Semester 2024/2025

The Water Diplomacy Center is excited to announce the opening of applications Master of Science program in Water Diplomacy Scholarship for the Summer Semester 2024/2025  within the Department of Civil Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). This program is designed to equip stakeholders, politicians, and decision-makers with essential knowledge in the field of water diplomacy.

 

Candidates for the Master of Science program in Water Diplomacy should have a background in fields such as water resources management, environmental sciences, international relations, or related disciplines. They should also have a strong interest in water-related issues, excellent communication skills, and a desire to address global water challenges through diplomacy and policy.

 

Scholarships are Available!

A number of scholarships are available for students from the Blue Peace Middle East countries (Iraq, Türkiye , Iran, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria).

Curriculum Description

There are two tracks for the program: 

Thesis track and comprehensive exam track. In both tracks, students must complete a total of 34 credit hours of study over an average period of two years.

Compulsory courses are for both tracks and include (1) Foundations of Water Diplomacy, (2) International Water Law and Governance, (3) Water Conflicts and Cooperation, and (4) Integrated Water Resources Management.

Elective courses include (1) GIS and Remote Sensing for Water Management, (2) Energy-Water-Food-Ecosystem Nexus, and (3) Climate Change Diplomacy.
