Course Participants The course welcomes a diverse group of participants, including current and future water managers, decision-makers, and professionals from Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Turkey, and Syria. Their backgrounds in ministries related to water, environment, and foreign affairs, coupled with gender diversity, promise a dynamic learning experience focused on addressing water-related challenges and conflict resolution
Course Objectives and Expected Outcomes: 1- Knowledge Enhancement: Participants will gain a thorough understanding of water conflict analysis, theories of water conflict and cooperation, and the complexities of water-related conflicts. 2- Skills Development: Attendees will develop practical skills in water diplomacy and conflict resolution through interactive activities like serious gaming and dialogue-driven sessions. 3- Critical Thinking: Participants will learn to analyze water-related conflicts from various angles, considering environmental, gender, political, and economic dimensions. 4- Regional and Global Perspective: The course will offer insights into transboundary water management in the MENA region, with connections to global issues such as climate change. 5- Networking: Participants will have the opportunity to connect with experts in the field, fellow participants, and course instructors, fostering a collaborative learning environment. 6- Field Trips: Participants will engage in two field trips aimed at providing them with practical, real-world insights into water conflict and cooperation dynamics.
